GP Training

We participate in helping to train Medical Students from Plymouth, and other medical schools, who may sit in during consultation, or want to talk to you as part of their programme of training, or later in their training, undertake initial consultation under supervision. You will be informed prior to your consultation if a student will be present. Please let us know at the time if you would prefer a student not to be present.

Advance arrangements will be made with some medical students if they wish to talk to patients about their conditions. The Plymouth Medical School has an exciting new method of teaching that may involve patient participation.

Practice and Staff Training is also undertaken in the practice, or elsewhere, wherever appropriate, and which also includes the ongoing training and updating of heath care professionals where appropriate, by suitably qualified or experienced trainers, or by peers with suitable knowledge and experience.

This means that there will be sessions when the practice will be closed for staff training and you will receive notification in the practice when this is to take place.

Please be understanding, as it is very important for staff and health professionals to maintain high levels of training to enable us to provide, and improve the service we can offer to you.
